About Me

Hi, my name is Ryan K. Cosner. I am a 5th year PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Caltech where I am advised by Prof. Aaron Ames as a member of the AMBER Lab. In the Summer of 2022, I interned with Nvidia's Autonomous Vehicle Research Group where I was advised by Dr. Yuxiao Chen, Prof. Karen Leung, and Prof. Marco Pavone. My main research interests are nonlinear, risk-sensitive control and machine learning and their applications to robots and autonomous vehicles in uncertain and safety-critical environments, with the long-term goal of making robust and performant autonomous systems ubiquitous in everyday life.

Outside of research I enjoy giving back to my community, playing music, drawing, and racing triathlons.
